The
budget has number of projects for the agricultural and allied sectors. Fund
is allotted for the manufacturing, warehousing, and marketing of
agricultural products and other allied and value added products.
The project to renew and maintain fresh water sources will prove a boon if
implemented effectively and the idea to bring it under the central
employment guarantee scheme is also appreciated by the experts.
The budget has many suggestions for the development of coir industries, hand
weaving, hand craft industry, khadi and rural industries, cashew nut
cultivation and related industries and all other traditional industries.
Though the provisions, projects and suggestion will help the sector to
survive for a little more time, this alone will not be enough to pull back
this basic sector from a complete extinction. The sector must be modernized
and mechanized with the help of modern technologies including information
technology and the target market must be expanded by product innovation and
clicking on to value-added products to attract the growing generation who
are not at all interested in getting their hands dirty.
The budget has allocated 1000 crores for the expansion of market and product
range of agricultural products. If the officials use this amount
effectively, farming will become more profitable.
