Kerala
politics has become an interesting thing to watch out. Live clashes,
conflicts, Goonda attacks have all become a popular phenomena and an
inevitable part of politics. Its the only state in India where we have 24
hour politics. One thing or the other!
Common men watch this and laugh at the wonderful scenes and
some others think how worst our present day situation has become. Fighting between
party and within the party is common in state. Sometimes these lead to cruel
murders.
Recent clash and Goonda attack plotted allegedly by NCP in Kochi is
said to be the most shocking of all political clashes in recent history. Eventhough it is not a serious incident,
its nature is different. These events are being looked at as a consequence
of the leader K. Karunakaran's reported return to Congress party. His son and NCP leader K. Muraleedharan is
against this move. He questions his father's decision and advises his
followers to stick on with NCP. He declared that his leader is NCP president
Sharad Pawar.
But Muraleedharan's move got a setback when most of the
leaders and supporters stood behind K. Karunakaran. Those who have viewed
the scene might have been shocked. Even the women leaders handled one of the
Goondas and he was injured seriously. One could not blame the leaders
because they were counter attacking the Goondas who had thrown chairs and
injured the organizers without any provocation.
What is happening to Kerala politics? Is it becoming just
like Bihar or Tamil Nadu? Where is the political decency? The cadre party CPM
is facing many problems within the party. Many local committee meetings and
elections were postponed due to groupism. CPI ministers went to a police
station for releasing the criminal workers who ruined public property during
an agitation and allegedly got them released.
The law and order is decided by politicians, mainly by ruling
party. Latest fight between the father and son rise many questions. Is this
part of a most clever political game? Some how many people suspect that this
is a gimmick... Karunakaran's re-entry is widely accepted among Congress
leaders. But Leaders like Chennithala and Oomen Chandy kept mum for many
days and opened up only most recently. But they don’t like the entry of
K. Muraleedharan. If Murali come again and become active, it is definite that
Ramesh or Oommen Chandy will be sidelined.
The lust for political power is spread everywhere. But senior
most leader Karunakaran has been always longing to live and die as a
congressman. He had declared this many times. But things turned against this
wish when his son had an outburst against congress leadership and later the
state witnessed a split in the party leading to the formation of DIC and its
merger with NCP.
We also witnessed many political walkovers. The relation
with CPM secretary Pinarayi Vijayan gave some hope to DIC to find a place in
Left. But when hardliner leaders of CPM and CPI opposed this move teeth and
nail, they deliberately ignored this party and forgot the help they got
from DIC during Thiruvananthapuram Loksabha poll. Even the elected MP,
Pannyan Raveendran did not remain grateful to DIC.
At last, DIC approached UDF and this temporary alliance had
no gains. Eventually, DIC was merged with the NCP of Sharad Pawar. The
political Bhishmacharya and the king maker of Congress became isolated for a
while. Then he again started to think of going back to Congress, which is
said to be his life breathe.
But Muraleedharan moved in a different direction. Now the NCP
is almost split. Karunakran's re-entry is almost agreed by Congress central
leadership.
What would be Muralee's next step? This is the big question
that still remains. IS ALL THIS DRAMA A POLITICAL STRATEGY OF LEADER? LET US
WAIT AND WATCH
