Paloli: To be or not to be:
-
Caught in court's ire
Rajesh Kumar Edacheri, April 06, 2007

Kerala politics has been always controversial. Persons to party and the size and time would vary.

Now this is the time of Paloli Muhammad Kutty; the local administration minister. To be or not to be: the question haunts him. He has declared that he would be ready to resign but party should decide. “I am a member of Communist party (Marxist) and the party assigned me the portfolio and I will follow the decision of party” is his line.

His speech against judiciary is a serious issue while considering his position, some leaders including KPCC President has opined. Paloli has been always considered to be a soft-tempered leader of CPM with public support.

He had stayed away from all sort of party controversies and followed the party doctrines always. Even his name was projected for Chief Minister’s post during last Kerala assembly election.

Many wonder how this soft man could attack judiciary in his speech. Some critics say he could have avoided these kinds of controversies.

Many court verdicts in recent times have been widely discussed among social fraternity and political circles. But when a responsible minister opined that verdicts are depended on currency power, no wonder he could have been questioned.
