While
building pages, keep the keyword in mind. Build the site around the keyword
which the user might use while searching for the content in your site.
If one use the keyword Hollywood,
unless the word Hollywood is in the page how would they find it?
Instead you word it like Los Angeles, or film city, search engines will
index you differently and nobody who searches for "Hollywood" would reach you.
Use in the keyword in the text.
If you were expecting them to reach you for the keyword Hollywood actors, using all the Hollywood actors’ names jack Nicholson,
Harrison ford, al pacino, denzel Washington without mentioning the word
hollywood actor is very unlikely to lead them to you.
Build the content around the keyword. Start from
titling, through the first paragraph, and the body of the page must be built
keeping the keyword in mind. It is better if more of your keyword is
towards the top of the page as this area may be used to create the
description by the search engines.
Directories visit your site and a
human view the content.
Web directories like
yahoo or dmoz, actually visit your
site (a human visits) to list it in their pages. They look at the quality of
the content. Hence make sure it really is good.
In fact the domain name itself must have a relation
with the keyword. However this is never as important as the content.
Understand that most search engines index the entire
text in your page. So take care all across the page. Make the keyword
central to the page; at the same time make good, well meaning pages. Some
search engines are known to rank the page low if it has less than hundred words. So make that
your minimum.
