Among
keralties there are prominent business men, engineers, doctors, other
professionals, and large labour force and people following variety of other careers.
Keralites are great many.
Number of Keralites in the Gulf generally runs into
millions. Their income is the mainstay of Kerala states never promising
economy.
In Dubai itself there are lakhs of Keralites either
employed in the best of professions or toiling in the sun for labour work
to feed the family back home.
Peaceful and harmonious life with memories of home.
No doubt the life in Dubai is most peaceful and
harmonious. While some are content with the life as an expatriate and
think of Kerala as a hopeless state due to economic, business, and
industrial backwardness, there are many who often look up at their
native village, town, and city with much hope.
While some enjoy every minute of the life here, some
expatriates find it tough to make the ends meet and do not save much.
Keralites see Kerala marred by cheap politicians.
While they always appreciate the discipline, peace and
harmony Dubai and the UAE provides, most of them believe that their
state is mostly ruined by insincere politicians who come to rule them
election after election.
