Black house to White house
Barack Obama in historic win
- November 14, 2008 By Baburaj VK.

The White House built by black slaves in 1800 is going to become a Black’s House.

"There is a woman behind every man's success". Mum-in-Chief to First–lady of the oldest democracy, Michelle Robinson Obama,; the elegant, smiling, passionate young lady who always moves with Barack Obama is that woman.

She will remain an important pillar for Obama in his administration in the coming days. A lawyer herself, she completed her education in Princeton University and Harvard Law School. The speeches she made during the rough and tumble campaign struggle were really her own life experience. Once she said to Obama in her public speech, “if you know the people or not, if there is agreement or disagreement, treat the people with utmost dignity and respect”, and it shows her total commitment to the country and the people.

We could read from her speeches the unstinting effort, the quest for doing the best for a better America. She will be the remembered as an ambassador for change in the USA. I strongly believe Obama has the same view point as Michelle, but yet how far both can do wonders in this present juncture, is yet to be seen.

The transformation was not easy as we did watch the presidential campaign struggle in between Hilary and Obama. I felt that it was a great challenge to Obama though the campaigning was in favour of Obama. To most Americans, black is still black and the racial aversion is still very much  present. What inspired the Americans especially the awakened young generation to elect Barack Obama, an African American, to highest office is the charismatic leadership he had displayed. Also the people of the United States desperately needed a drastic change. A change in all spheres not just to overcome the economic crisis but also to correct the failed foreign policy. The historic win on November 4, 2008 paved the way for an African American to the White House at last and the dream of Martin Luther King has been fulfilled. The day is to be remembered for ever.

The tough times for Obama is ahead. The discussion of power transfer is on and the 44th President of United States of America will be sworn in by January 2008. The world is looking for the change in USA and the radical changes affect the whole economy and it may probably the beginning of a change the world over. Let the world listen and wait!!!
