Resonance from
the Mumbai blasts and the fear have been felt in Calicut too. Twin
blasts in Calicut on March 3rd last is said to be a warning of a big blast in
near future, according to intelligence sources.
However the investigation team until now could not find a breakthrough
to nab the culprits of the twin blasts. With the reports that the
mastermind of Mumbai blasts is a former SIMI worker, police do not
rule out the link with terrorist outfits in the state. Many terrorist organisations are said to be operating in Calicut city in the name of
human rights organisations. Intelligence authorities have mentioned
Calicut among most possible cities for a terrorist attack in south
India.
Many
fundamental organistions are also operating their networks here under
various banners. Crores in foreign aid is flowing to the city to these
fundamentals. Police have started monitoring some fundamental organisations. Many
of these organisations are known to have links with Afghan brown sugar
mafia. Brown sugar for one Crore had been captured from a person in
Calicut recently.

alert at Calicut station after Mumbai blasts:
Afghan people are
known to be engaged in drug business to aid terrorist outfits. The
former SIMI is re-organised and operating in another name. Its head
quarters is said to be operating out of Calicut. There are noted similarities of
planned operation of a studied terrorist group in northern parts of
India and Calicut blasts. Another shocking report is that many weapons
and explosives are coming to the Malabar coast by boats. Twin blasts
occurred in Calicut, blasts in a fisheries boat at Beypore, powerful
explosives captured from KSRTC bus stand are pointers to a possible
terrorist operation. Repeated Bomb hoaxes in the city has also become
headache to police. Railway station, bus stands, and public places are
under constant observation. Bomb squad and dog squad is searching for
explosives. Police are keenly observing trains from Mumbai.
