Kozhikode: A seminar on e-farm will be conducted on 9th April 2008 at New Nalanda auditorium, Kozhikode at 11 am for the representatives of local bodies. District Panchayath President K. Kunhammad Kutty Master will inaugurate the program.

"e-farm" is a project introduced by Akshaya for the development of agriculture, utilizing the benefit of information technology. Farm aims to provide information on latest technologies in agriculture, help farmers to sell their product directly, educate them about various agricultural welfare schemes through Akshaya.

The project is run by Kerala State IT Mission with the help of Hyderabad based National Institute of Smart Government, U.N.D.P, Indian Institute of Information Technology and Management and Kerala Agriculture Department.

Kadathanad Mahotsav:
Vatakara (Kozhikode): The festival of Vatakara, Kadathanad Mahotsav will be inaugurated on 6th April at Narayana Nagaram. Minister for home and tourism Kodiyeri Balakrishnan will inaugurate the fest.

A variety of art and cultural programs will mark the celebration. Vishuvilpanamela, Flower show, Book fair, Consumer fest are the major attractions of this event. There will be literary festival, dance programs, Vadakkan Pattu, Kalarippayattu and childrens art festival. The festival concludes on April 13.

NCC Ocean Tour:
Kozhikode: NCC Kerala naval unit has started its adventerous sea tour. Samoothiri P.K.S Raja flagged off the boat journey at Puthiyappa port. Thirty NCC cadets are participating in this event.

The adventurous sea tour is organised to develop self -confidence, adventurous attitude among cadets, and train them to face the challenges in rough times. Kerala Naval Unit Commanding Officer P.K. Sudhakaran is guiding the team. After travelling along Koyilandi, Kottakkal, Chombala, Thalassery, and Kannur, the team will return back to Kozhikode on 11th April, 2008.
