The congress party is
in Kerala is in a dilemma over leader K. Karunakaran's second coming. N.C.P
leader K. Muraleedharan says that there was no such discussion held and he
also adds that any move would tarnish his father's image. But the congress
central leadership is considering Karunkaran's coming back as a boost to
party functionality.
AICC general secretary in charge of Kerala affairs Mohsina
Kidway had recently discussed the issue in Thiruvananthapuram. However she
has refused to divulge anything related with Karunakaran issue. Sources
related to top A.I.C.C leaders says that the central leadership would
announce its decision very soon. Hectic discussions are still going on.
Kerala leaders had a talk with Mohsina and some other leaders. Kerala
leaders including central minister Vayalar Ravi met Congress president Sonia
Gandhi and discussed Kerala affairs too.
Central leadership is planning to take necessary steps to
boost-up the party. Many of the leaders have the opinion that Karunakaran's
second coming would benefit the party. There are lot of sincere workers
still behind the leader. But a faction of Kerala leaders oppose this view.
They opine that the return of leader would lead to factionalism in the
party.
Most of the NCP leaders are thinking that they will wait for
the final words of K. Karunakaran and obey his commands. This means that
they would not hesitate to go back to Indian National Congress. For many
days now, Mr. Karunakaran's returning has seen hectic discussion in
political circles. But this discussion caused many problems in N.C.P.
Its leaders are still confused whether to continue or quit and join
Congress.
Muraleedharan is speaking in one tone and K. Karunakaran in
another. Some political think-tanks however added that this style is a new
political strategy of N.C.P.
