Kozhikode: Eight schools have been selected to the Vision India project being conducted by Asian Football Federation co-sponsored by Kerala Sports Council and Kerala Football Association. Kozhikode district collector Dr. M. Jayathilak announced this. 
 

This national program is also being conducted in Manipur and Tamilnadu. In connection with the program special training for the coaches would be conducted in Kozhikode and Thiruvalla. Students those who have born after January 1^st 1997 and before January 1^st 1998 would be selected in this program. Selection trials will be conducted in the eight schools on January 05, 06 and 13^th.

Admission to Model School

Kozhikode: Applications are invited from parents of SC, ST students for admission to fifth standard at Kozhikode Model Residential School. Students residing in Malappuram, Kozhikode districts can apply. Admission will be based on an entrance examination to be held on 23 February. Selected students will get free education and accommodation. Applicants should be fourth standard students in a recognized school. Family annual income should not exceed 40,000.  

Prakthana tribal class will get assumption on annual income. Applications in prescribed format should reach at District Tribal Development Officer, Civil station, Calicut - 20 before 31st January.

Kozhikode: A few seats are available in Advanced Multimedia and videography course at Skill development Centre, situated at Kozhikode collectorate under the auspices of District Panchayath. 

Free coaching for P.S.C exam

Kozhikode: A free coaching class for P.S.C Assistant Grade-2, clerk, junior clerk, L.D.Clerk, cashier, junior assistant will be conducted at East Hill pre examination training center, Kozhikode. Candidates of February 23 P.S.C exam belong to SC/ST; OBC. OEC and other backward classes can apply. Those who are interested to attend the programme may report at the centre on 14^th February with certificates and xerox copy in proof of caste, income, qualification. A stipend will be awarded to S.C Students with an annual income not more than one lakh according to the land limit. 

Call for Perambra Taluk

Kozhikode: Communist Party of  India(CPI) Perambra Mndalam meet has demanded for Perambra Taluk. Party pointed out Perambra is the centre of eastern hill land and hill-produce goods trade centre. The development of Perambra would be fast if the existing areas of Vatakara Taluk were included in the yet to be created Taluk - said the party. Party representatives meet was inaugurated by CPI State council member E.K.Vijayan. K.E. Narayanakurup has been elected as mandalam secretary.
