Kozhikode : Various programs marked the observance of World
Environment Day in Kozhikode city and suburban areas. Planting of trees,
distribution of tree saplings, awareness programs and pledges to protect
forests were some of the events. District Collector Dr.P.B. Saleem
inaugurated planting of trees at collectorate compound. Environmental
Activist s also participated. Various organizations arranged similar
programs at Mavoor, Kakkoor, Perambra, Vatakara, and Kuttyadi.
