A rare exhibition, organized by the B.E.M.U.P
School, Puthiyara in Kozhikode attracted students and grown ups alike. The
exhibition, a tour on Gandhiji’s life through pictures, organized during
Gandhi Jayanti celebrations continued for six days.
B.E.M.U.P School, Puthiyara in Kozhikode commemorated
Gandhi Jayanthi by organizing a rare exhibition of its kind.
Gandhiji’s life moments since childhood, captured by
professional photographers were displayed in the exhibition. Most of the
sketches were enlarged size of newspaper photographs.
When the school’s social science club, parent- teachers
association (PTA) and alumnus joined together, the legend’s life was
visually recollected. The dedicated effort by all who involved made the
venture comprehensive and holistic. It clubbed pre-independent and post
independent life of India.
Gandhiji and Sreenarayana Guru, Gandhiji and Jawaharlal
Nehru, Gandhiji’s belongings and favorite places were on display.
An informative caption was also given at the bottom
line of each picture to educate the young visitors.
Many school students and public visited and
enthusiastically examined the pictures with vivid interest.
“The success of this exhibition is dedicated to the
team spirit of students, teachers and PTA.It is first of its kind in the
city.” says Sherieja Beatrice, the Head teacher of BEM UP School.
A quiz competition was also organized based on the
exhibition. The comprehensive power of students based on the exhibits was
assessed.
The school PTA already has accolades for the best
performing PTA in the state. The team is led by P.Aravindakshan. K.Raghavan
M.P. honored the PTA. and presented two computers from Local Development
Fund for MP’s.
The school has a well equipped science laboratory and
computer lab. “We try to offer best facilities for poor and common students.
If they have little potential and the willingness to work hard, this is the
right place to grow”, says the Headmistress.
