Kozhikode : The City Police Administration and Residents
Association joined hands with students and social workers in the human chain
and awareness program, organized as part of World Anti-tobacco Day
observance in Kozhikode.
A human chain was organized at Mananchira ground.
Student police cadres joined hands with medical professionals and social
workers in the program, highlighting the message to quit the unhealthy
habit.
City Police Commissioner Anoop Kuruvilla John
administered ‘no tobacco’ pledge.
Students’ police cadres who performed well in their
voluntary service inaugurated the program by lighting the lamp. Two of the
students spoke at the function and urged the youngsters to quit the tobacco
use. Doctors, A.K Abdul Khader and Mammi pointed out the health -hazards of
tobacco use.
Assistant Commissioner of Police K.Radha KrIshnan
welcomed the gathering.
Kerala Government Student Nurses Association
organized a march in the city as part of world AntI-tobacco Day.
The students with placards of warning messages against smoking and
tobacco use symbolically carried a smoking skeleton to emphasize the tobacco
peril.
