Renowned artist and Lalita Kala Academy Chairman C.N. Karunakaran’s
painting exhibition has begun at Shrishti Art Gallery in Kozhikode. With the
perfect blending of colors, the artist did create a world of exceptional
grandeur with a powerful insight.
How can an artist move with a clear cut stand for his
surroundings and draw it in simple and sharp language, CN shows the modern
method of art with a sense of emotional endurance expressed in a
professional manner. Onlookers feel a strange passion and they look again to
certain paintings and he or she gets new outlooks of life moments. The
Blooming Night is one such image that guides you somewhere else with
minute colors and unheard rhythms of night.
“Its basic feel is gloomy.”-says artist C.N.
Karunakaran.
Green Woman as the title stands in compliance
with Nature. Goddess Enclave-01 and 02, Gowthamy, In Conflict, Mythical
Forms, She Flies, Night Dream, Tribal Queen, Woman with Animal, Anxiety, Red
Tree with Woman, and Dark Tigress are some of his other paintings
displayed here.
‘She Flies’ stands for a liberated woman soul,
moving to a world of fantasy.
The challenge to frame current lives into professional
painting has simplified with his long time experience and artistic
exposure. Most of his paintings displayed here have strong presence of
woman as leading figures. But if you ask the painter, he would reply with a
smile:
“Many ask me this question. But I am not doing it
deliberately. It comes as a natural flow. According to C.N, as per
Bharathiya concept, women stand for exceptional virtues and universal
motherhood.” This might have influenced me also.”
His paintings have been bonded with Nature and Men.
He shows the art lovers how can an accomplished artist
use limited colors and maximize the effect in each painting.
“These paintings are my new experiments by using
limited colors and attaining unlimited possibilities.”-says C.N.
Around thirty pictures are on display including his two
drawings.
The painting exhibition cum sale will continue until 16th
of June.
