kozhikode : Sahodarya Sangamam was inaugurated by Swami Viswa Bhadrananda Shakthibodhi at Nalanda Auditorium in Kozhikode.

“Hard-line principles in public life must be avoided for finding amicable solutions to the prevailing social issues in modern times. Maintaining a tolerating mind is the need of this hour.”-Swami said.

“Spirituality is only one part of life. Socio-political and cultural aspects make the total evolution of human lives.”-Swami noted.

The backwardness of the Ezhava community and the failure of Communist Party to uplift the society into mainstream life has been one of the major reasons of Nadapuram tension, opined T. Muhammad Velam, while presenting a topic on the political clashes in Nadapuram.

“The party has not made any efforts to perform its historical duty by involving Ezhava Community into social frontline. The party instead maintained the community as its protesting force alone. The situation of backward tribes in the southern part of Kerala had been the similar one in the case of Ezhava in North Kerala also. The party didn’t show gratitude to Ezhava community”-said Muhammad.

“Muslim landlord system that existed in the region also made a sort of insecurity in the mind of Ezhava section. But the traditional Muslim fraternity had maintained great merge with other communities.”

“Independent police enquiries and strict law and order ambiance would help to curb the violence.

Police officers must abstain from receiving the list of criminals from political parties and instead they should perform their own independent investigations.”-noted Muhammad.

Delivering his view, Sheikh Muhammad Krakkunnu said party villages are more powerful centers of injustice than caste villages in North India. Caste and politics have become tight-binding factors that lead to inequality and injustice.

“It is a fallacy that democracy and secularism can be remedial forces of all human sufferings. “-he said.

Organizing Committee Chairman A.Vasu presided over the function. Sunny M.Kapikkad made introductory speech on the organization.

He stated that Sahodarya Prasthanam stands for the liberty of backward and weaker section of the society. He said a value- based society should be created beyond the deteriorating party politics, with a collective effort and a better rapport with all section of the society should be maintained.

Ahmad Sherief, K.C Varghese, K.K.Kochu, K.P Sethunath, V.Prabhakaran, K.K Baburaj, K.Sunil Kumar, C.S Murali, O.P Raveendran participated in the debate followed by the presentation.
