When Indus Ind Bank Kozhikode provided a space for
an artist, it was a new experience to him as well as the art lovers in the
city. Earlier, his paintings were exhibited as a street show at the venue of
International Film Festival, Goa in 2005. He is the only artist to have
attempted such an event.
Suresh, a native of Calicut, self-trained artist had
been displaying his painting in streets until Indus Bank Kozhikode gifted
him its office space for his painting exhibition ‘Earth Song.’
Recently concluded painting exhibition of Suresh Buddha
attracted many. Suresh’s first in-house exhibition was innovative in its
theme and color. When you look on the paintings of Budha, you will be guided
by a ray of hope that is expressed in bright, green colors.
A new space is formed with identical elements like
falling leaves, but too with unusual diversity submerged in a pure color
combination. Waterfalls, butterflies and small leaves create a world of
fantasy where the painter merges with his dreams.
The life of leaves and butterflies are pictured in a
vibrant and seducing way. The blend of bright colors with thrust on green
and blue is a rare niche created by the artist.
As he rightly pointed out his vision:
‘We have something to be inspired to move our life
ahead.’
‘Life is originated in Nature as it is dissolved in
Nature.
The green leaves and flowers butterflies……men are
witnessing the wonders of Nature. In between time we look on its treasured
frames with new aspirations.
So I think my paintings also have something in common
to express; a specific message that is also inspiring and delivered in green
medium.’
“My dream project is a work on Vijayanagara Empire.
Past and present life sketches of the historical theme is awaiting apt
sponsor;” says Suresh.
