Kozhikode : We should uphold the great tradition of farming as part of our life more than just a livelihood, said the Minister for agriculture K.P. Mohanan.

Addressing the gathering after inaugurating Mango Fest at Gandhi Park in Kozhikode, he underscored the need of participation of more people especially the youngsters in the agriculture sector to revamp it. “Researches and training is necessary to make a lead in this field.

The central government has sanctioned seventy seven crore rupees to agriculture sector. From seed to marketing is the project on the cards, to benefit the farming sector.” - he said.

“We must protect our conventional cultivation methods and simultaneously awareness programs should be implemented to attract more people to farming sector. It is mandatory to reach all types of government grants to the hands of farmers at the right time.”- the Minister noted.
