Applications invited for BEd :

Kozhikode, May 3: The University of Calicut has invited applications from eligible candidates for admission to BEd course (self financing) in various teacher-education centres coming under the University during the year 2004-05. 

Those who have passed BA/BSc with 45 marks can apply.  Those who passed BA / BSc under the liberalized scheme of the Calicut University also can apply.  Those who wish to join for BEd in Commerce should have passed MCom with 50 per cent.  Passing MCA / MSC Computer Science /MSc Electronics with 50 per cent will be the eligibility in Computer Science BEd.   

Application forms from the concerned centres will be available from May 5.  Forms would be available on production of receipt of Rs 25 remitted ion the head of account of Calicut University at Government treasuries, selected SBT branches and Friends Janasevana Kendrams.  Those who wish to obtain the form through post should send a chalan receipt of Rs 25 along with a self-addressed stamped cover (Rs 15) top the director of concerned centre.   

Filled applications would be accepted till May 28.  Admission procedures would begin only after getting the NCTE recognition.  Following are the University’s Teacher-Education Centres: Kozhikode: Zamorin Higher Secondary School (Maths, Physical Science, Arabic, Malayalam, Commerce and Natural Science). 

Vatakara: PWD Rest House Annex (Maths, Malayalam, Commerce, Social Studies, English, Physical Science and Computer Science Education). 

Manjeri: KKB Building (Urdu, Arabic, Natural Science, Maths, Social Studies, Malayalam and Physical Science). 

Palakkad: GSHS Compound, Koduvayoor (Tamil, Sanskrit, Physical Science, Social Studies, Mathematics and Commerce). 

Kaniyampatta (Wayanad): GSHS Compound (Maths, Physical Science, Hindi, Natural Science, Social Studies and Malayalam). 

Sulthan Bathery: Holy Cross Church Building, Poomala (Malayalam, Social Studies, Commerce and Maths) 

Balussery: Kailaspuri Building, Nanmanda (English, Malayalam, Social Studies and Commerce). 

Malappuram|: Koottilangadi (Commerce, Social Studies, Maths and Physical Science). 

Nattika: GFHSS Campus (Commerce and Maths) 

BEd Regular courses: 

Application forms for admission to BEd courses in various aided colleges under the Calicut University would be issued from Thursday onwards.  Filled applications would be accepted till May 15.  Rank lists would be published on May 22.  Interviews will be held on June 1. classes would begin on June 9. 

Optional available in various aided colleges: Government College of Teacher Education, Kozhikode: English, Malayalam, Arabic, Sanskrit, Hindi, Physical Science, Natural Science, Maths and Social Studies.
