CU invites applications for MSc Biotechnology :The Calicut University has invited applications for MSc biotechnology course conducted by the Biotechnology Department with the assistance of the Ministry of Science and Technology. 

The all-India entrance examination for the course will be conducted by the Jawaharlal Nehru University, Delhi on May 18. Kozhikode and Thiruvananthapuram will be the centres of examinations in Kerala. 

Applicants should have graduation with 55 per cent marks in one of the following subjects: Biological Science, Physical Science, Pharmacy, Agriculture, Veterinary Science, Fisheries, Engineering, Technology, Medicine or Dentistry.  Those who are taking final examinations this year can also apply. 

Application forms are available at the Bio-Technology Department of the university for Rs 120. Chellan, postal order or demand draft will not be accepted. 

Applications should reach the Jawaharlal Nehru University by March 17. Students selected for the course will get a monthly stipend of Rs 800. 

Computer Hardware and Networking : The first semester (regular and supplementary) examinations of Computer Hardware and Networking course conducted by the Science Instrumentation Centre of the university will be held from March 1.  The last date to apply without fine is February 15 and with a fine of Rs 25 is February 21. 

MSc Computer Science : The last date to apply for the fourth semester examination of MSc Computer Science is February 22. Students should submit their project report along with the application.

MA Music : The result of the fourth semester M.A. Music examination has been published.  The last date to apply for revaluation/scrutiny is February 25. 

MA Sociology : The Distance Education Centre of the University will conduct contact classes for first-year MA Sociology students at the centre from February 14 to 27.  The contact classes for first-year MA Hindi will be held from February 15 to 24. 

B Tech examination : The examination for the fifth semester BTech –paper CS2K503 Programming Language Concepts scheduled for February 15 has been postponed. 

MSc Food Science and Technology exam : The third semester MSc Food Science and Technology examination, which was originally scheduled for February 28, will be held on February 16. The centre and timing of the examination will be the same. 

MSc Computer Science : The result of the fourth semester MSc Computer Science examination will be published on February 14.

MA Economics : The Distance Education Centre will conduct contact classes for first year MA Economics students from February 12 to March 20 at the following centres: Sree Keralavarma College (Thrissur), Chittoor Govt. College (Palakkad), Govt. College (Malappuram), Government Arts and Science College (Meenchantha), Govt VHSS (Kannur). 

MSc Mathematics : Contact classes for MSc Mathematics students in Palakkad and Thrissur districts will be held at Thrissur Sree Keralavarma College on Saturdays and Sundays from February 12 to April 3.
