Bus:

Kottayam has three bus stands. The KSRTC Bus stand is south of the centre on TB road. Bus destinations are signed in Malayalam and English. the other two bus stands are private are known as Old and Nagambaram (new).

Train:

Kottayam is well served by express trains running between Thiruvananthapuram and Ernakulam.

Boat:

The boat jetty is about 3km from the town centre.
