Stopping at the source: Spam needs to be stopped at the source. Current methods
receive spam mail and then filter them and get identified as spam.
although it is easy to say this, problem is that sif someone want to
send you mail and he presses the send button, mail is on the way to you
unless it is blocked opn the way. It cant be blocked on the way because
it is not easy even for the best spam filter to judge precisely whether
a mail is a junk and unwanted by you.
Stopping at the Inbox: This is actually filtering at the inbox. like
what Outlook 2003 does.
If you are a user of hotmail or yahoo, you have
options like receiving mail from only addresses in the address book. You
can also enable its spam fighting features to get a filtered list. It is
frustrating that you still might need to look at the filtered, junk
folder once in a while. But that's the fact of the moment.

Microsoft Outlook
2003:
Microsoft's Outlook receives spam and
filters them as they come into your inbox. Suspected Spam are moved
to a separate junk folder for later verification. |
